Celebrity hairdresser Daniel Galvin has just been sentenced to a five month jail sentence (suspended), a 500 pound fine and 150 hours community service. His crime; firing an air rifle at two of his neighbours, throwing rocks at the same, and criminal damage. I have always been under the impression that firing an air rifle as a weapon constituted a firearm offence. It seems it's not. Taking all into consideration (of course Mr Galvin had a first class defence solicitor) is this real justice? Would someone from a council estate be let off so lightly?Mr Galvin is hairdresser to the likes of Camilla Parker Bowles, Madonna and Keira Knightly.

I hardly think a 'celebrity hairdresser' would get preferential treatment in the court. Ive got slightly more faith in our legal systemEdit - well it didnt work for jeffrey archer

If he could afford a good lawyer he probably got a better result. That's the way it works.

Sounds like he had a little spat with his neighbor. Something a kid would do.No, his crimes don't seem that bad. Community service, 500 pound fine, probation. Sounds right.PS, an air rifle is a joke of a weapon. Yes, it can take an eye out.

It just goes to show, the rich can afford good solicitors that can get them light sentences......There are a lot of cases like it...Alex Ferguson and his nappy run drive along the hard shoulder., fearing he's poo his pants after a vindaloo...David Beckem escaping from the paparazzi excuse...and so on and so on....Money buys you freedom....just like in monopoly...
