I'm a 16 year old junior in high school. My father is allowing me to get a laptop for christmas, but it has to be under 1500. I will use my laptop for school work, but I also want to be able to run Photoshop AND Paintshop Pro AND Image Ready AND Animation Shop on my laptop because of my web designing. I hope I'm not pushing my luck, but I love the SIMS 2 and I have all the expansion packs on my desktop pc, no problem. Is there a laptop under 1500 dollars that has enough memory to run these programs smoothly? Any recommendations?

yes, get a MacBook (1,100) then upgrade the RAM to 2 GB and HD to 120 GB. the new total is 1,324.Then get XP or which windows you prefer and install this on the MacBook using BootCamp. This way, you can boot up into either windows OR mac os x (using the option/alt key at startup)You can see if you like mac os x, and it is good for use at school, since they typically use macs. Then use Windows OS for all your games and windows software. With a Mac that has both OS X AND Windows, you cvan;t lose no matter what system you prefer.

I too recommend HP. It's perfect for graphics but u'll have to ask for a bigger ram to run those softwares smoothly. Check for the Video card as well. In that case, I believe that nVidia plays perfect.Good Luck.
