i still wouldnt suggest it i played it when i was about that age and i was really corrupted by that game even if the person knows the difference of the game and real life it will dive into their subconscious and make subtle changes

12 years old. I would let him play it, he is almost a teenager. He can handle it, I am sure the boy has heard cuss words and seen worse stuff on tv. I think the game is awesome personally. I love it. It may have some violence and language but what doesn't anymore. Honestly, I think he would be okay. It won't turn him into a criminal or a boy with a dirty mouth. If he knows there is a difference between reality and a video game, which I am sure he does, he will be just fine. I think it's okay! Let me ask you this, does he play racing games? I know that they are violent or anything, but my point is that when he starts to drive he will know that he can't act like he does on the video game, just the same as GTA. Good luck, it is your decision, but I think it's okay, it's a fun game! You should give it a try

It's a pretty violent game, no doubt about it. I played violent video games, watched violent television, played with toy guns and I turned out just fine. It's your personal call. Why don't you go online and look at demos of the gameplay by searching for "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas reviews" on Google? It would be easier to make up your mind that way. At twelve my parents would have let me play that game and it would have been fine, but it's not my son or my say.

well, since you said that he is a good kid, and he understands then its ok... when i was 3 i played mortal kombat (extremely grusome and violent game) it hasnt effected me...that much..well, i have played all the grand theft autos and they had barely any influecne on me. all the stuff you hear about video games making kids go on shoot outs is just bull. u should let him play

I would play it, if he knows the difference between real and fake and right and wrong it should be fine. I would monitor him watching when he plays though.

When I was 12 I was babysitting and selling lemonade by the roadside and mowing lawns/washing cars in the neighborhood.My point is he's probably pretty mature. Its just a video game. But maybe the best approach is to let him earn the money for it then he can decide if it's really worth it.

I say if you question it then the game is not for him.But if that's not enough I say you play it a little yourself before you actually make a decision. Rent it or if possible buy a used copy. Make the decision on your own opinion of the game and not ours. It is a fun game but meant for the adult audience. I mean they put the M rating on there for a reason.

In my opinion, for what it's worth, is that he will no doubt be exposed to the violence, drugs, and sexual content while he lives his life. As parents, we cannot always be there to give advice as to right or wrong. So the values you have instilled are set. He now has to make choices based on those values. I would let him play. If he hasn't been arrested yet, then you should let him play the game. If he starts killing people or jacking cars, then don't let him play anymore.
