Yahoo has a featured story today linked to the url http://realestate.yahoo.com/Real_estate_news/story?s=rytimes/item-4bcc1fc619fd6bf106034420ddf198de.html How is it that Yahoo! is allowed to post such misleading information about the housing market and post no writer's name? The information posted in this editorial is posted as fact. Shouldn't that be illegal? How does Yahoo! get away with it?For instance, in this editorial, an anonymous Yahoo! Real Estate staff writer states that "There is no housing bubble." The facts are very clear that this is the biggest real estate bubble in history. This misinformation could lead more people into losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would Yahoo! do this to their users? Could this be why Yahoo! is falling so far behind Google?Clearly, before Yahoo! Real Estate presents what they believe to be fact before millions of users, shouldn't they cite things like the Shiller Graph which define, without a doubt, that there is a dangerous housing bubble in the US? http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/113/2109/1600/shillergraph.gifI would prefer answers from unbiased Realtors, thanks. Realtors are given clear talking points designed to defraud their clients out of thousands of dollars. See http://www.realtor.org/home_buyers_and_sellers/its_a_great_time_to_buy_a_home.htmlI state the facts. Please don't use Yahoo! Answers to spread lies and rob people of their life savings.

Your interpretation of the data does not jibe with that given by many others. So, it is going a bit overboard to accuse Yahoo of playing fast and loose with the facts. In my area, there are several houses that have been on the market for quite a while, but they are way overpriced.

I just checked out that article, thanks for posting the link! Although I agree the writers name should be posted for any kind of article I don't disagree with their findings. As a Realtor in today's market I know the conditions very well, it is what I make a living (or no living) at. Truth is that it is tough out there but I don't think that is unlike anything the Real Estate Market has ever seen before. The interest rates are no where near the historic highs and the housing industry will eventually regain it's strength. People need to be less worried that the sky is falling and focus more on the fact that it is no longer a "get rich quick" kind of market. That was actually very short lived in comparison to how long homes have been bought and sold. We have to be realistic about the situation and not be overly dramatic or have unrealistic expectations!
