I am getting my CPSR 440 insurance sales agent liscence, and will be working for Allstate insurance, and in a few months I will get my morgage broker liscence and work as a loan officer for the same company.everyone that works at this company makes good money, and my boss says that I will make at least 50000 next year, but I have a hard time believing him until I actually start making money. So, I will start in one week, so when do you think i will start making some money?

first, learn to spell Mortgage! This type of Insurance usually takes a while to get going as commissions are delayed until approval - some types of policies annualize commissions when monthly payments are on an automatic bankdraft. Companies like Combined Ins. Co. of America specialize in personal lines and commissions are paid weekly - Companies like Howard Life specializing in Funeral Ins. pay this way also, and as soon as your production goes in and checks clear you get a check or an automatic deposit in your account - As a newbie your employer may have an initial compensation program to get you on your feet - Insurance is a highly profitable industry, but you must work hard! Learn more about the product than required. Read the "success system that never fails" by w. Clement Stone, read, "The Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino - stay motivated. The thing in your statement that concerns me is that you don't believe the income possibilities. An aggressive, "I am the best" attitude is a real plus; wake up each day affirming, "I can do this" - say "Good Morning Lord!" , not "Good Lord, Morning" -- It is hard to ask for high dollars from a client when you have little or none. It is hard to believe others can write checks for thousands, or use a credit card with 20,000 in credit available on it when you yourself have never had that kind of money - So develop the attitude that the money in their pocket is yours already, and you have the right to ask for it because you are being totally honest with them, and have their best interests in heart in the plans you are offering them - You must believe this and mean it with every fibre in your being - then you cannot fail -Frankly, I consider 50,000 pocket change in that industry. In three years you should be offered your own brokerage, and be able to run away from the pack financially - Keep your own private client list, very confidentially - let NO ONE know this. If you change companies, or start your own, you may have to agree to give up programs you have written for a period of time - but once people have bought from you, they will likely buy again. Always put a smile on your face and you will put a smile in your voice - bring no problems to work, never gossip in the office or participate in it. Be loyal to your boss, and (normally) he will be loyal to you - do not participate in office politics or back-biting - be a source of a positive attitude no matter what the external circumstances look like.Establish a success baseline-- If you sell 3 out 10 clients consistently, then you have to see 100 to sell 30, and the commissions on thirtly will make you some serious money. The size of your income is in direct proportion to your dedication to the principles outlined above. Honesty is not the best policy -- It is the ONLY policy.
