I am a senior in high school and want to become a realtor. I was wondering if I could have some advice about becoming a realtor and possibly any experiences that you've had over the years. I have a passion for houses: the designs of them, the neighborhoods that they are located in, and the people who occupy them. I am competitive and ambitious, any suggestions as to what I can do to help pursue my career? Thank you!

With the way todays economy is... The realestate business is just not great at all. I would look up some fall backs just in case things don't go right.

You should look into getting a realtor's license. By the time you get out of college with a degree, the market might be at its all time low or be on the verge of upswing. Look into becoming a broker, because they are higher level than a plain realtor. Know your history of the market. It goes up and down and so you need to plan accordingly in order to be successful. A lot of new realtors arrived during the boom and now are feeling the downside and have no idea how to deal with it. Suggestion:Get a college degree (Helps with just being well rounded and perhaps avoiding this down time)Look into getting a Realtor's LicenseLook into becoming a brokerLook for internships/work for a Realtor to get experienceLearn about getting into the Realtor's MLS network.
