I have done tons of research and still haven't found an answer to my question. It really is sad I mean these perverts open up a website,and the ohsting companies don't do a damn thing about it! They're supposed to be monitore peoples sites from time to time to prevent this,yet nothing is ever done about it.

possibly bcuz there are too many sites to monitor & they only look into things if someone reports a problem, ORthey just dont give a crap bcuz they still get money from it and being in america, money is like.... everything haha.

Because they are often hosted in international locations where laws aren't as strict or are more ambiguous. If they are hosted in the USA, they web hosting company would also be held accountable.

actually the government IS trying to close the websites just like they are trying to close torrents such as limewire but it is hard because so many people use it and it doesnt take one day to close it. they are really fighting and trying

Part of that is the distancing with the "not responsible for content" clause.As an example, Yahoo! disavows any and all problems witht e validitity of the answers here, even though they know some people are getting bogus informationI would think, as a public service, they should know what is going on and shut them down. No First Amendment rights when it comes to child pronography

alot of those sites are out of the u.s. and those sites are protected by different laws so they canot be regulated. also there are companies that block those search words so those sites go belly up but even with the best inforcement in the world the internet has EVERYTHINGi do agree with you that it is very sick that our society allows child pornagraphy and that anyone even wants to look at it , but unfortunatly we live in a sad world.

One of the main reasons they do not get shut down is that not all countries have the same cyber laws as we do here in the U.S. and a few other countries. There are steps being taken to rid the net of these sites, but there are some many URLs on the net that it would take a long time to track down all of the child porn sites. It's hard to catch those people that have this kind of sick fetish, when most third-world countries do nothing to prevent the sites from being hosted on servers in their countries.

i've heard on cnn that verizon supplies a lot of the bandwith to the sites (i don't know about pictures themselves, but where pedos discuss stories and desires). people have been putting pressure on them and they've been shutting the sites down

They can't keep an eye on every site that people make. That's why you can go to the hosts site and report that particular page for inappropriate content.For example, Myspace, they allow people to make their own pages and tell you in plain friggin english that you are not allowed to post porn or anything like that on a myspace page or you will be deleted immediately. All you have to do is browse the members and you'll find at least 15 profiles for every 3 pages of results that are inappropriate and sexually oriented. I am one of the few that reports every single one of them that I find like that, and I've reported about 15 within the last week and 10 of them have been deleted. (Myspace emails you to let you know when they deleted someone you reported.)
