I hear Bill Buckner is a real estate agent in Iowa now. Does anybody know how he is doing personally? Does he seem to be happy? I hope so.

I hope he isn't, and that all his real estate deals are rolling through his legs.

It's in Idaho, actually. Here's his bio on Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_BucknerNot sure if he's happy (gotta ask him), but you gotta give the guy credit for making something of himself after what happened in the World Series. Most people probably would have committed suicide or something.

I think the answer is, he's learned to live with it.The sad thing is, he is actually making money from his ineptness. For about $100 you can buy a picture of his infamous play, and it is autographed by him! Some might say he's a winner for this, as he is making $, but I think he is just perpetuating his position as one of the most famous losers in baseball history for a few bucks. How sad.incidentally, I am not losing sleep over this, I just think it's sad. The guy otherwise had a career to be proud of, but 99.9% of people will remember him as a loser, and he gets to immortalize his acknowledgement of that in that picture.

Well, there was a worse Red Sox World Series goat than Bill Buckner - Johnny Pesky. And now they treat Johnny Pesky like a hero! I think the right field foul line at Fenway is even called "Pesky Pole" now.Buckner blew the 6th game in the World Series, Pesky blew the 7th game! (This was in 1946, the year I was born.) The Red Sox were tied 3-3 vs. the St. Louis Cardinals, but the Cards had Enos Slaughter on first base. Somebody got a hit and the outfielder threw the ball back into Pesky (who played 2nd, I think), and Pesky just froze! Enos Slaughter, for the Cards, took the opportunity to score the winning run for the Cardinals all the way from first base while Pesky just held the ball and watched until it was too late. Unbelievable. So, maybe some day they'll have a "Buckner Bench" or something at Fenway. But I have to believe that Buckner won't ever be "happy" about that little dribbler.
