Ive just started www.detral.com and its a free real estate classifieds website where people (for sale by owners) can post a listing of there homes for free. I am in North Carolina. Is this legal or am i commiting a crime? Because someone emailed me and said that they were reporting me to the State Attorny General and that I was going to be fined alot of money. Is this true?

Some states may require you to be licensed, but I,m not really sure . but if you are profiting from it it could raise an issue .

Aye, you need an NC broker's license. Either comply with the terms of the license or take the website down asap. Roy Cooper doesn't mess about where consumers are concerned.
