China's growing pollution reaches U.S. By TERENCE CHEA, Associated Press Writer Fri Jul 28, 9:38 PM ETMOUNT TAMALPAIS STATE PARK, Calif. - On a mountaintop overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Steven Cliff collects evidence of an industrial revolution taking place thousands of miles away. The tiny, airborne particles Cliff gathers at an air monitoring station just north of San Francisco drifted over the ocean from coal-fired power plants, smelters, dust storms and diesel trucks in China and other Asian countries.Researchers say the environmental impact of China's breakneck economic growth is being felt well beyond its borders. They worry that as China consumes more fossil fuels to feed its energy-hungry economy, the U.S. could see a sharp increase in trans-Pacific pollution that could affect human health, worsen air quality and alter climate patterns.

I hope not surely not even George Bush is that dumb.The last thing the U.S. military wants right now is to take on China,we can't cover all the missions we have now.President Bush has destroyed our military forces and the respect of the rest of the world for the U.S. If the U.S. invaded China it would stir up a hornets nest of regimes all over the Continent who would throw in with China against us,including Russia.The rest of the world sees us as weakened right now and they are right ! We all better hope and pray that China doesn't look at us as weak enough to be invaded ourselves.

Why do you think if the situation is serious enough to go to war(which is isn't) would the US be the only ones fighting China?

I think that Iran will be the next target for the worlds police,China although publicly the U.S government might have to pretend to care about the way China treats its people ,but its all about money ,China is one of our resources of cheap goods ,how many labels say made in China,there's a reason for that,and the U.S could never spread it self out that far .No we will stay in the Middle East for the next twenty years one country after another until the whole region of Middle East is either all democracies or they all unite against us and blow us all to Hell!!!!

It would be absolutely ridiculous that the United States would go after China and there are many reasons for that. If the United States goes to war with China, it is inevietable that it turns into either global nuclear war or global economic collapse. Even though it seems that the United States is not happy with China, there's no way that the US is silly enough to risk damaging Sino-US relations.According to the Straits Times on June 25, 2000, war with China will escalate into a nuclear Armageddon. No matter what China does, the United States is far too reasonable and level headed to risk a war. The Nation in May of 01 states, "Such a war would backrupt the United States, deeply divide Japan and probably end in a Chinese victory, given that China is the world's most populous country and would be defending itself against a foreign aggressor".The United States knows this and it knows that if it tried to attack China, China would not only win but it would deeply damage the United States. So therefore, there's no reason to believe that the United States would have any reason to attack China. Although China is communist and the United States is a democracy, the United States will not look for a reason to attack such a dangerous nation.
