I was just looking through the real estate mls listing and found a house that was listed way cheaper ($139,000) than you'de guess it to be. Its 1,6332 square feet on the inside. I called in to find out why it was listed so low and was informed that there is mold on the inside that is slowly taking over the house.....what does that mean, is it not a good idea to buy this house, would the cost of repairs be too much and not worth it? How much would it cost to repair? Another thing to note is that this house has been on the market for 1 year. Any information would be appreciated, thanks. My family is great in the different trades (carpentry, electrician, plumbing, etc. )so to replace torn down walls and electrical work would not be a problem. but I would have to pay for an inspector and someone to remove it. Would it be worth it?

Ran into the same here. It would cost $30,000 to remove mold. No financing available. Cash only.

Depends what the construction of the home is made from? Sometimes, mould can be caused by lack of ventilation and if that is the case, then it is easily remedied by opening the windows, fixing air bricks, and stripping off the wallcoverings,de humidifying the whole house until it is dry then redecorating.I am in uk where most homes are built of brick.
