Get the job first--ALWAYS get a job first. Secure a means to pay for an apartment (many places won't rent to you if you don't have a job) and to have a means to support yourself.

job 1st always,, go a scope it out unless you have funds to live on for about 6 months

I'd say move first. That way you have time to get used to your new home and finish unpacking without feeling rushed. But if you're worried about finding a job out there then find a job first and tell them when you can start.

I have always felt it is best to get the job first so you can then choose a part of town or suburb that is convenient to the job location. Also, you will be SURE that you HAVE a job there. You could end up with a job in a nearby town. Make a scouting trip first.

Get a job then move. It is easy to find a job but you want to have that income comming in first.
