I really do not like real estate agents, because as a buyer agent they need to get the best deal for the buyer, which in 90%+ of the cases is the best price. However, they are compensated based on how high the transaction price is.
Has anyone negotiated with their agents to take back the 3% that they were supposed to get from t he seller, and then pay them as a percentage of the difference the agent could knock off the listed price? House listed for 800K, transaction closed for 725K so the agent gets 40% of 75K = 30K. If the transaction closed for 780K, the agent gets 8K. |
