|

| I am fortunate enough to come from a financially stable family, who pays for my college tuition out-of-pocket (so long as I maintain acceptable grades). I have recently thought about deferring my tuition by taking out student loans (for me to personally pay back later), and asking my parents to put the money towards real estate instead (a university condo). Would this be a smart decision? On the one hand, If I didn't, I could graduate from school with no student debt, but with no home equity either, or if I did, I could graduate with student debt, but significant equity in the home (It would also reduce the cost of college by eliminating room and board).Anyone who would like to weigh in on the dilemma is more than welcome! Thanks! |

| Well tis probably better to invest in the house, because as the economy gets worse and worse house values will rise. |

| home is the wise decision. It provides a tax shelter for your parents while you can get a loan that you don't have to pay back until you graduate. Later in life, you can rent out the condo while building equity.Regards |
