I have been in the business for over a year now. The first couple of months I was just learning the ropes. Now that I know pretty much what Im doing I now am having a very difficult time getting clients. It seems that new loan agents are struggling, but the experienced agents are still consistantly bringing in 4 or 5 deals a month. The most common answer that I get is to go get realtor referrals, but it seems like all the established realtors already have a lender they deal with.What stratagies are used to get a young professional like myself to be able to close at least 1 or 2 deals a month?

Hmmm, tough question, but.. hit the realtor schools, and the newbies. Those are the ones most eager to sell a house, and by default are teh ones most eager to get financing~Hope this helps, I was once a newbie realtor!

i am a loan officer in LA... im only 18 years old and i started 4 months ago and even in this horrible market, ive managed to close 13 deals already. how? i had this idea that most hadnt done yet... i went after the for sale by owner market. Think about it... these people do not have realtors therefore there is no one referrring them to loan officers to get their loans for their new homes. I went to forsalebyowner.com, clicked on everyone on in my area and just flat out cold called them. i told them that id help them sell their home for no cost. how did i profit? by them letting me do their loan for their new home and i do the loan for the person buying their home. good luck

I agree for sale by owner is a gold mind. Many loan officer do not tap this market, unless they are in a huge market (like, Atlanta, Miami, part of Cali, and etc). However the are two side to the FSBO.
