Considering a job as a realtor. i know they work all hours of the day and weekend, but is it possible to have a personal life as a full-time realtor? would love to hear from any seasoned professional who can give me some real-life insight on the pros and cons of the business...thanks!

If you want to TRULY be successful at it, you need to make it your "baby". This does require most of your time, thoughts, and effort. You are essentially starting your own business, and if you have ever talked with someone who started their own business, you would no that you have very little personal time (if any!). After years of building a reputation and getting into a routine, you might find some relief (especially if you hire a licensed assistant!). Another option is getting on with a team. You can get the much needed experience and training, but also get some regulated hours.Pros: It's a wonderful career that puts you at the heart of the business world. You become a big party to some of the most passionate moments in peoples lives. The money *can* be REALLY good, too.Cons: It is definitely a numbers game, which means you end up doing a lot of work for free (especially at first). You REALLY have to have some cash reserves because most people don't end up closing anything in the first 6 months! In fact it really takes about 3 years before you are making a solid predictable income. And it really does take over your life for awhile. It really isn't a business that you can just do part time.
