Has anyone else noticed the blatant disregard for the rules of this site regarding personal advertising? How many agents have provided their direct website link, office name and other personal information when it is clearly against the guidelines of this website?I especially enjoy the agent, that is blatantly advertising, scold someone for seeking "free" information without a Realtor, when that agent is using this venue in which to advertise themselves and their company for "free". Too comedic! This type of conduct is what gives an industry a bad reputation. If you're not following basic guidelines here - I would hate to see you in everyday practice.

I agree, and I report their abuse! Everyone should report abuse.

I agree with you 110% on your points made. I would submit that it is just the sort of people you are referencing here, that cause most of those asking questions to be so uninformed. True professionals rarely, if ever, have clients so desperate for an honest solution to their issues. No professional and competent service provider needs to advertise on a board like this. When I tell someone here they can e mail me it is only because their question might require a private answer tailored to their exact situation. I have to sometimes wonder why one would say for example, California RE Broker (but lives in Texas). She does give good advice often but there is a credibility issue when misrepresentation occurs. Hence your observation on industry reputation. Your own answers are well thought out, they answer the question, and place insight into the mind of the asker. That, to my perspective, is what the intent of this board was created for. I dont ever attempt personal marketing here. I make a decent living and can donate some of my time here. I find it disgusting that there are so many people in real estate and mortgage lending that are so inept. Because of them and the uninformed public that turns to them for their expertise ( ha ha) We will always be needed on boards like this. When I first went into real estate 20+ years ago it was a service industry and 3% of a house sale wasnt enough to lure in predatory opportunists. I went into mortgage lending 15 years ago because I couldnt find a honest loan broker. My past, current, and future clients will never need to ask a question here. Your clients are lucky to have your professional ethics and standards working for them as well.
