I own a portfolio of real estate, and I specialize in bringing together roommates with similar interests and life styles together all under one lease. I'm up to quite a few homes these days that I need to fill, and Craigslist, Roommates.com and Easyroommates.com aren't really doing the trick. I'm also in the midst of getting a website developed where soon I will be advertising via Yahoo Overture and Google Adwords.What else can I do, marketing campaigns can I compete in or what other websites are out there that could help my business?

Try rent.comWhen I had too many units, I tried to come up with creative things to offer prospective tenants, i.e., free cable for 6 months, free house cleaning service for 3, free 1/2 month's rent, free lawn care, etc. Best of luck!!!

Are you advertising in any local papers? You'll have to pay a small fee but alot of people look in local papers when they are looking for a place to rent. Some cities have rental magazines too. You could hang signs at local grocery stores. Most of them have bulletin boards by the front doors.

You need to hire a marketing expert to develop a plan to assist you with all of this... not try to do it for free with an open forum like this yahoo answers!

Not sure if your properites are located in one region, but sounds like you want to advertise locally. Local papers, flyers in coffeeshops, colleges, gyms, etc. Do you have a referral program you promote to current tenants? Since you're looking for people with specific interests and lifestyles, I'd suggest looking into a company called VariableThinking, http://www.variablethinking. They can actually create a mailing list based on your specific criteria (interests, income, rentors, region) and then send a personalized direct mail piece. Check out their portfolio...they put out some incredible pieces. Good luck!
