Hi all.I am a licensed real estate agent, but work in property management. I got my license so that i could lease commercial properties. My father has a property that he is thinking about selling, it would list for a million 5. I was wondering how i would be able to sell the property for him. He rather have me have the commision then another agent. I am not working for a broker or working at all at the moment ( just had a baby and am going to stay home for awhile). My question is do i need to work for a broker in order to sell my dads property? I think i remember hearing in my RE classes that i have to hang my license with a broker. I also have a friend who wants there land sold and would like me to sell it would i have to work for a broker in order to do this? If not, how would i sell the property? Would it benefit me to worker for a broker for these projects, if so why? Also, the property is in a diffrent county then i live in. Its about 70 miles from me. Thank you

Yes, you have to work for a broker. You can not sell property with only an agents license. The county thing should not matter, as long as it is the same state.

Talk to the same broker under whom you had your license when you were leasing commercial properties. (You do know that you had to be under a broker to do that, don't you?)
