Why then does Western Europe especially not emulate the economic model of the United States? During the late 80's and early 90's the San Francisco 49's developed and ran what was called the "West Coast Offense". It was so successful that most teams in the NFL tried to copy it. Business do this every day. If one of their competitors is doing bigger and better things they try copy their business model. Why then does the rest of the world not copy the US economic model?NRen2K5, first that doesn't even begin to offer an answer and second if conservatives are so stupid why then is the United States so much more sucessful than Europe?Ro!, unfortunately you are right that the US is slowly catching up with Europe in terms of Social programs. It seems just the opposite of what I am asking is true. The US is emulating Europe and their high unemployment, stagnate economiesAs far as health care goes, I get this from people from all over the globe traveling to the US to get treatment.

Because socialists and libs live in la la land. Capitalism works, socialism doesn't- but it makes the gullible feel good as the idea of taxing the rich and giving to the poor to correct society is somehow advantageous. I always say, do what works, doesn't matter what it says on paper.

You think the liberals in EU is gonna let then have a capitalist economy?.. The do not want a better economy. they want the govt. to take care of their lazy citizens by handouts.. Oh, US is not too far behind, is some have their way !

Politics isn't business. People in government like to run the show. They do what they think will keep them in power, regardless of the outcome. Recent examples: Saddam Hussein, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro.

What makes you think we have the best health care when thousands have no health care at all. And if we had the best economy, then why is the dollar worth less than the pound or other monies.We do have a great military if you keep politics out of it. And most of our technology came from Germans.

Where did you get the ideas that we have the best health care, and best technology. There are Countries with better health care systems than ours. And Japan is no slouch in technology.

The European nations are slowly moving into the socialist way of life....people beilieve they are entitled to free gov't subsidies and capitalism is ruining the way of life for people.......when in fact capitalism creates more wealth for people.Look at the nations that have adopted socialist veiws..they have more unemployment, less medical avenues and less individual wealth.Sadly some here in the U.S. want to take on the socialist veiws and abandon the ways that have made this nation strong.

Your economy is not strong. It is totally reliant on oil, something which will come crashing down around you if OPEC go ahead with their plans to conduct the oil trade in Euros. The Euro is a much stronger currency and the dollar is getting weaker. Europe is growing and young while the US is getting old. Not to mention the $8.7 trillion dollar national debt.I am not going to break my fingers writing all the details about it here but anyone interested in can read it in my blog.

The European Union has the largest economy, the bet health care, the best technology. The United States has only the strongest military (not for long time).
