I am a 21 year old young professional (Realtor) and I am responsible but yet like to have fun. I am not into parties but I do like going to quiet bars and talking, movies etc. I also like politics, music and just talking about anything in general. I am having a hard time finding friends that don't smoke pot, go clubbing etc. I talk to a lot of people and have no problems with conversation at stores and whatnot but there is never any contact info exchanged. Also, when I do rarely hang out the person has a legit reason they can't hang out and I am dissappointed I also have a problem with thinking people don't like me, and it's stopping me from saying "hey, we should hang out" because I think if they wanted to hang out they would ask me to. What should I do?

honestly be yourself. Go out anytime to places that INTEREST YOU, not any one else. If you don;t like to party hard, then don't you will find that you can find no friends there. Also be initiative ask a friend if THEY want to hang out IF you want to hang out with them.

Join a group, any group. It could be volunteering at the humane society or children's organization (big brothers/big sisters) or something like Rotary, Kiwanis or Lions. If you find a club that you enjoy then you will be with like minded people who already have shared interst with you.

You can meet them through work, through church or synagog, join groups, political clubs, etc. Don't worry, you'll meet friends. You're reaching out right now. Good luck!

Just be yourself. friendly and outgoing. Try joining groups were the focus is not dating, but cooking or hiking or whatever. Don't wait for others to ask you to hang out. You have to be willing to make the first move. They may be waiting for you! Remember to remind yourself of what you are, beautiful, intelligent and a good person. Start seeing that in yourself and others will to.

I am a 21 year old prof. also and had the exact same problem for the longest time. Try local event groups. Go to meetin.org. It's a "non-pick up scene" group that completely free. There's always dinners, mixers, club events, concerts, and stuff scheduled where you can go and meet people in your city that are into the same things you are.Another group is Meetup.com. They have individual interest groups like nightlife groups, dining out, dancing, hobbies, etc. I've meet so many wonderful friends through these groups and they've really helped me. Everyone is very welcoming. I encourage you to give them a try. Just put yourself out there and you'll meet people Smile
