My family and I are having legal issues with our Home Owner's Association in our neighborhood. We followed their rule book completely when we were remodeling our backyard, however, the board members want to set precidents over a certian rule (that has already previously been done). To make a long story short, in order for us continue building, we are going to have to go to court. Does anyone know a good lawyer in the Atlanta, GA area for this? Or does anyone know the legal term for a lawyer that specializes in this field beside just "real estate lawyer"? Thanks!

Real Estate Attorney is the title description, but you probably don't really need to get that specific. I am not a lawyer, so please don't proceed solely on my advice, but if you are not in violation of any tenet of your HOA guidelines, then you should not have any problem, even if the rules are changed after or during construction. You may want a contract lawyer to go through the HOA bylaws to see if you are in violation, and provide you with a letter stating that you are not. Try your local office of Weissman, Nowack, Curry and Wilco in the Atlanta area. They specialize in Real Estate law and can at least point you in the right direction.
