| The housing market has gone down, so my dad quit his job. He is now a consultant for them (this is in real estate), but we aren't getting enough money. He applied for a job in Carlsbad, which is a long ways away from where we live. I want to be closer to where my family is, but I don't want to leave my friends. THere is even a girl I like, and I want to ask her out, but I don't think I should because of this. Any ideas?I did ask this question on another catagory, but someone told me to come here. |

| Go ahead and ask the girl out. Have fun! Don't let the decisions of others (in this case your parents) interfere with your life. You probably will move. So be it. Dating a girl one-time is better than not dating her at all.You aren't putting down roots yet, you aren't making life decisions here, you are just wondering if it is okay to ask a girl out? Yes! Ask her out, enjoy a day, or a week, or a month or two of dating, and if you move, so be it. In the mean time, both you and she had a new friend.I'd rather do something for a short while, than do nothing at all! Inaction isn't a solution. You aren't asking her to marry you, you are just asking her out for "dinner and a movie." Enjoy yourself. When it is time to move: move. Leave your old friends, and get some new ones in Carlsbad (or wherever.) |
