Great question. The answer is that the internet as we know it would not exist without the ability to search. In one sense, searching is all the internet really does. It's just a matter of countless little bots running around trying to find stuff.

Just think if a libary didn't have the dewey decimal system what use would it be if you can't find what you need. Even befor the World Wide Web there was a search engine (of sorts) called Archie.

Oh brother. The brain is a terrible thing to waste. New to computers, are ya? There are ways of searching and ways of finding things without the use of a search engine. So if the internet don't errrrr I mean doesn't (excuse my poor grammar) have a search engine, we could find a way. So in answer to your question, the internet would be useful. I appreciate a search engine, but it's not the main focus of how I use the internet. You need something a little more useful coming into your mind.... I mean coming out in your mind.
