| I have a blog that has about 100,000 unique users a month but earns little ad revenue (until recently i didnt' think i could earn money blogging so didn't pursue this angle). A newish start up is interested in taking on an equity split with me and paying me a salary. We would both be owners and I would have editorial control; they would take on the costs of staff, marketing, hosting, etc. The only thing is they are not paying me anything for the last year and a half I've been building the blog. They say this is called "reversing in" and see themselves more as publishers than investors. What questions do I need to ask? Is this a bad deal? I really want to do this so that I can blog full time and not put anymore of my own $$ into the site, but don't want to sell myself short. |
