If one assumes he knows all there is to know in any given subject, that naive arrogance ensures that his development in that wisdom has ceased. If I recognize that every truth is deeper than my knowledge of it, that kind of humility and respect, when coupled with diligent search assures the expansion of that wisdom. I mentioned on this website the fictional story of a man who was searching for truth. His quest took him the world over, but truth he could not find. Finally he heard of an eminent wise man who dwelt on top of a mountain in a very barren land. He climbed the cold and foreboding mountain to arrive at its top where he found a guard standing before a hut. He explained his quest. The guard went into the hut, returned, and ushered the man in. Inside he found the old wise man sitting behind a flat rock table. He was invited to sit and explain the reason for his visit. After patiently hearing the pilgrim’s story, the wise man took two cups and poured steaming hot tea to the brims. Then the wise man said, “Pour some tea into the cups.” The visitor rightfully responded, “I can’t. They’re full.” The wise man replied, “Neither can I give you truth. Your cup is full.” Enter this three-part life-transforming series with an empty cup.Taken from this source: www.godsaidmansaid.com

Well I can tell you my psychologist said my seratonin pitcher was leaning and therefore my seratonin level was being depleted all the time even though it was being filled up continually. Does that count? Just kidding.

With advent of today' s science and technology it is easy to answer your question. Faith in "UNSEEN" things can only be an answer. Our universe boundary is 4 billion light years away from us. One light year itself, man cant imagine how much the distance is going to be. Just now man has sent a space craft which will reach few million kms in 2020 or so. One light year is distance travlled by light in one year.Like wise in maths we have a term called "INFINTY" which is a faith and this solves so many complicated problems. In physics we have an imaginary particle called "Photon". This is the basic of fundamental of physics. Man is a very very minute creation by God when compared to the whole universe. But man is huge creation when compared to the smallest particle "electron" which today's science has found out. So man cant achieve the 100% knowledge status.

it means you right, and because there is more than one answer to each question, I take yours, as correct, so my tee cup, will never be fill, which means the wise man was right, and he gave the traveler seeking for the true, nothing, because he didn't deserved anymore as he shows, that he all-ready though he knew everything as you mention in the beginning of your (perfect), question. It shows also that what you see, to be true you which to say, just be patient, once a wise man toad me, "To much Knowledge is dangerous", he said, although lather I found out, because such affirmation, and negation to his own wisdom, will butter me, that he was giving me an advice, and the advice was, be-careful, in what you say, while is part of your own knowledge, and to whom you say it. keep your mouth shut, will apply, while there is a conclusion you have arise too in your own, Knowledge is something Universal, and there for the taking, but we need to provide our self's, with the right tools to get it. Think about how expensive is now a day's to find the right tool to achieved and pursue, knowledge wisdom and perfection. By the way I'm convince that Faith = Knowledge. acknowledge is something else, acknowledge is Universal. we need to "how you say shew on it, to make be our own Knowledge? which for us, it can become more valuable that that all the Universal acknowledge there is, because we have use, God gift of Intelligence to us, from God to achieved it, So, as well, let us set our feet in the ground with a more mortal way of wisdom by quoting this words, and begin again "The mind is a terrible thing to wast". God bless you.

Even though Socrates has said "I am wise in that I know that I do not know.", this can not be exactly what he meant. The reason is that, even if our personal cup attains a limit, to say, or imply, that it can not overflow to other cups around us is lacking this important variable, and denies the unthinkably great idea of union of soul(s). Only by increasing our own measure, and have that be caught in its overflow to others can we be said to have transcended ourselves. To merely fill our own cup is at best contentment, which, is the end is lost through inactive evaporation, so to speak. While to have our cup constantly refilled by the Divine Cup bearer because we are busy serving other the divine "tea" of life, is to have an overflow of blessings which transcend all human expression, and is of the divine realities. To find the limits of reasons is not sufficient, one must keep going or regress. That greater reality is implied in the example you gave, but it is hindered by pride.I hope that answer is satisfactory to you.God bless.

everything is always changing, including our knowledge, and what is true.as soon as you think you know the truth, or everything about some subject, you have closed your mind to any new experience.and as soon as you trust your knowledge over your experience, you've left reality.

There are many different ways in which to approach this but I'm going to say just this much.I have been like that man - seeking but not knowing that I needed to look inside - so I travelled and changed jobs, made new friends, changed addresses, married, had a son but never felt fulfilled.God was always there but I did not know this. When I began to question Him and He began to reveal Himself to me - not through tangibles - but by way of deep inner revelations, ways and knowledge I never thought could bring me such peace. I started looking at life differently, seeing people from the inside out and not the outside in (on a spiritual level, not physical). Then I realized what I was missing all along. We could search the world over but it is only when we come to that inner knowledge that we become filled.

Kind of strange that science never claims to know all but Christians do!!!!!They KNOW how to reach heaven. The KNOW there is a God. They claim to know.Science is ever evolving always searching for more answers and finding more questions to answer. Science has the empty cup.

This means that a cup full of a liquid will overflow if you pour more liquid into it. This isn't that hard, were you really unable to figure it out on your own?
