I want to create a website for local artist and designers. Just someplace where prospect clients or whoever can find them. for example if you are looking for someone who does web design you'd go to my page and i'd have a list of local up and coming web designers. their profile would just have their company name, their location, a description of what they do and their contact number with a link to their website. I was thinking about showing a few pics of their work but do i need their permission to put any of that info on my page? Most of these people are up and coming or freelancers who don't even have websites yet

It would be a courtesy to ask them for it. A friend of mine is a published poet and artist.

You should ask them to be sure if they're not going to cause trouble to you.

Legally you are required to ask their permission to put their work on your website. The exception to this is if the work has been released under a CreativeCommons license or similar. These licenses mean you can use the content it pertains to in anyway you want, usually as long as credit is given to the original creator for the image or what not.Best bet.... Ask them if you can use their stuff Smile
