I am a Mortgage Broker. I was checking on rates for a client last Friday 11-9-07. He decided to wait until Monday 11-12-07 to lock a rate. The markets should be closed for Veterans Day. Why did the rates change? Hedging? Please help.

What you are saying does not make any sense, why would you wait until Monday instead of locking Friday if you didn't expect a change? Closed for Veterans day or not the soonest you could lock would be during a time that it could change ... right? Were you planning on locking the milisecond markets opened Eastern time on Tuesday?
