I've been offered a position as an auditor in an accounting firm. I applied for a position in Financial services, and I have been offered that position, however it starts much later in the next year, however, I also have the option to work in the commercial services department in the same firm, and that position starts almost immediately. I have been given a few days to think it over and reply back to the firm.I would like opinions from those who have worked in or are familiar with working in either of those departments, regarding what they consider are positives and negatives with working in eihter or both departments. Im trying to figure out which of the 2 depts I would fit better in, and wheter its better for me to either start working immdeiately, or take some time off and start and hopefully complete as much of my CPA exam as I can finish off. Suggestions/advice requested and welcomed. In case I forgot to mention, both the positions offered to me in commercial and financial services are both doing Audit work in a mid-size accounting firm.

You have not stated the position which they are offering you in commercial services department .I suggest that you may acquire your CPA and then join as an auditor in an accounting firm.BEST OF LUCK !!
