Diplomacy is needed. We shouldn't just not talk to each other. Sometimes, people can change their minds, but it won't be an instant conversion or deconversion.

Mom always told me, "Don't argue about religion or politics."So 3 guesses where I spend my Y/A time.It's an entertaining diversion, nothing more. And I've actually learned some things.

I enjoy the opportunity to tell the truth to those who need to hear it. There is no sense telling other believers about Jesus, thye already know Him. There is no arguing, I give my opinion and thay give theirs.

i don't believe that arguing will gain a brother. i certainly don't believe anyone has ever been argued into accepting Christ. but Peter said we should defend the faith. i see why, otherwise, in this day and age, Christianity would go the way of new age, and we'd be more concerned about how we treat eachother than how we treat God... and that is idolitry.

I do it because I have some things in common with atheists, some with the theists, so I provide triangulation that can give people a different perspective if they'll open their minds. They rarely do, but hey, it's worth a shot. Also, I think the debate sharpens your own beliefs, and helps you know more clearly what you believe, if you listen and do some research. I find it very disturbing that people make major decisions based on religion they know very little about. And it's good to have our assumptions challenged. We can all learn from each other, even if we don't make a dramatic change.

I usually only comment when Fundies come name calling the Atheists.Otherwise I do not care what the Christians, (or any other religion), think or do!But yes you are right, at the end of the day it is what YOU believe, and no one should impose their beliefs onto you.

I hope I am not arguing about religion. I hope I am asking and answering questions that make people think critically of previously taken-for-granted assumptions.

I don't argue with anyone over religion. You are freeto believe in flying rabbits if that makes you feel better,but don't ask me to prove they don't exist. I'm not theone promoting the idea.

Why don't you just get on and read your Bible. In it you will find all you need to know. Then you can make up your mind in a more sensible way. You have the genuine offer of salvation in the pages of scripture. Make sure that everything you are told about God and His son Jesus is true by checking it out.It's up to you if you reject it. You will only have yourself to blame.
