| My fiancee and I are getting married in Alaska in June and spending two weeks in Alaska thereafter (just he and I). We are planning on having a reception at some point thereafter to celebrate with family and friends. We want to have the reception in a town about 4 hours from us (in the town where the majority of our family/friends are located), and would have family/friends coming from out of town for the occasion. I wanted to have the reception at at a vacation rental home (so that both my finacee and I, as well as some of the out of town guests, would have somewhere to stay afterward), but one company told us they couldn't do that because of fire rescritions. Does anyone have any ideas? Help please! |

| Why not rent a hall near the vacation home for the party, that way it would be convenient for out of town guests? Wedding etiquette note: It is not techinically a reception because you have already married, it is instead a party celebrating your marriage.I am sure you will find a place to have the party and it will be lovely. |

| You may have to rent several places, or check with state parks for climate controlled cabins. Technically you could pitch a few tents in the surrounding yard and say people are sleeping in them even though they wouldn't be. Fire code is fire code and if locations willingly let you violate it they will be shut down. |
