I will be moving to one of six cities with my job relocation. I am looking for websites that give me key info...average home price, school info, ethnic makeup, etc. Anyone have any sites they use?

Try going to the name of the state.com and then see if there are any links to the cities. Or maybe write to the Chamber of Commerce of the cities you are interested in.

Check first if the county/city you are moving to maintains a website that lists demographic information, school information and other pertinent information about their place. But if you want demographic information such as ethnic makeup, etc. go to the Bureau of Census American Fact Finder and put in your city/county or zip code http://factfinder.census.gov/home/saff/main.html?_lang=en

The chamber of commerce in each city would be a good starting point. Yahoo's search features should help you with that. Look at the tax structure of each area to see if there is a tax cost advantage in one over the other. Demographics for the area may answer other questions concerning the economic make-up of each of the areas. An advance visit to would also help you narrow your search. Yahoo has map programs that provide satellite views of the cities. Zoom into an area and take a look.

This is a really good site: http://www.bestplaces.net/Just type in the city and it gives all the info...schools, demographics, housing averages, crime, economy, etc. People who live there also write their own opinions about the city so you can get some more personal views! Good luck with your move!

I like to do a yahoo groups search for the name of the City. Often there are groups comprised of people involved in the local community. Our group heavyhittersflorida@yahoogroups.comServes the Sanford Florida and Central Florida area. I have looked and there are many such groups around. Just a suggestion. You can also subscribe to the local online news papers.

Hi, The best way to get a relo package is to contact the chamber of commerce of the city that you are planning to move, you can do it by just going their site most of the time.
