Okay so my friend and I were gonna watch this video and we noticed that while i was downloading it, the pop up that told me I did not have active x looked a little fake, so yeah that part goes on from there and its pretty self explanatory. Anyway, so now i have this trojan or spyware whatever, and i think i've downloaded every single program thats free, and all of them even Norton (which I've had forever) tells me that i have no virus and no threat! But windows keeps reminding me that i do I get these pop ups telling me to download IE defender which I know for a fact is a trojan as well, and second of all my google is messed up,this is what it said when I search "Yahoo"; "Yahoo Search Error!Your computer is infected! Some of your search results were changed by spyware. You have to clean your pc and Yahoo Team recommend to use our ANTISPYWARE!"Funny how I didnt even use a Yahoo search engine? Yeah, and "Google" says the same! Ugh I really need this fixed, please help!

I have gotten this before, and its a very common virus. sad to say you will probably have to reformat your pc. if your computer came with a disk to restore it to its factory setting I would use that, or if it has a recovery partition try to tap the f10 key while restarting it. there is no scanner to get rid of it

Have you tried an anti-spyware program like XoftSpySE or Spyware Doctor?Sometimes this spyware stuff won't get picked up by anti-virus programs.You can download both for free at this site:http://www.thewisesurfer.comhope that helps!

its just fake messages by someone in the network. use a good antivirus and antispyware.

yes, you have spyware at least.if you do have good scanners, update them and run in safe mode. from the sound of things, you dont have a spyware scanner. i been using spybot for years, none better, its free. or take it to a local tech, they'll clean it out for you.
