I would really like to get a degree that I can use to join a good cause. Something like UNICEF, Red Cross, Peace Corps (although the website says I must be American and i'm Canadian). What degree should i take to ensure that I will have skills that will vastly contribute to these causes? I was thinking sociology but reading other topics on it gave me the image that it's kind of useless. So maybe it would be my minor instead?Can someone explain exactly what public health is?What are your thoughts on development studies?I know thats alot of questions but any help is much appreciated!  |

| any degree in the medical field would be appropriate, also engineering and business administration(logistics) |

| literally ANY degree can be used to help others!Humanities- help toher understand one anotherFine Art- use your gift for the createive to spread a message or give a detailed account of a genocideScience/Math- creat a product to help ppl.Medicine- well that one's obvious!I would say, however, if you college offers courses in Human rights or have a model UN, join it to get experience. |

| I'm trying to find my way through the humanities too. Don't focus on what you want to do like UNICEF etc. Focus on what you love, what fascinates you. The vehicle (like UNICEF, etc) will present itself to you.Public health has to do with communicable diseases, STDs, cholera, stuff that's out there that affects the society as a whole.Good luck. |
