The only thing I can see the problem with the game for some is the picking up of prostitutes and glorifying prostitution. Beyond that what does this game really have? When killing someone it looks like Hawaiian Punch is squirting out in little amounts of a cartoon body. Using a car to run people over. Being in a world where you do what you want. I have seen games rated Teen that has violence and content way worse than that of Grand Theft Auto. The only problem I can really see that is legitimate would be the sexual content but even that can be surpassed with some games. God of War has topless women and a sex minigame, you do not see, but you hear and see the vase on nightstand shaking. Not to mention graphic violence. I just do not see where Grand Theft Auto is considered horrible except for promiscuous actions that can be found in greater detail with other games. What makes this game so controversial that other games do not do in greater lengths? Anyone ever wonder why or of this?Yes, I know they do not like all the violence and actions in the game. Thing is the violence looks so amateur and childlike. The little squirts of blood that happens when you shoot someone. I mean there are games out there where you dismember people with a nicely placed shotgun blast, another where you chainsaw and blood splatters everywhere including the screen itself, and games where you shoot someone in the head you hear a squishy popping sound. But yet this game gets all the heat from angry parents who for some reason allow, or buy, this game for their 17-younger children?

it is considered horrible due to the fact that people who are afraid to admit they kill for the fun of it blaming the games they p[lay like grand theft auto which means the papers get wind of thesee story's and the games industry gets slammed for making so called violent games for youngsters but they put age warning on the games so it is the dumb ass parents buying children of 8 a game where the soul objective is to be a good gangster

The series has courted a great deal of controversy since the release of Grand Theft Auto III. This criticism stems from the focus on illegal activities, in comparison with "hero" roles that most other games offer. The main character can commit a wide variety of crimes and violent acts while dealing with only temporary consequences, including the killing of policemen and military personnel. Opponents believe that players will try to emulate this behavior, while proponents believe it provides an emotional outlet, as such actions in real life would have serious consequences.

Unfortunatley, there is a great deal of violence in those games. Not a problem for the adults they are intended for... but alas America's youth is spoiled by parent-"friends" seem to be buying these games not realising that its rated M for Mature. They realise after watching their 7yr old blow the brains out of an old lady and then steal her car that they should blame rockstar(the makers) instead of their own irresponsiblity. God of War is not as hype towards children most people i konw that play it are over 18... hope i can help.
