I would like to know what arenas in the US have NOT sold out during the Stanley Cup playoffs and the Basketball playoffs that just started. In the hockey section a few times today there have been questions about why the Detroit Red Wings have not sold out any of their playoff games in round 1 or round 2. For those sports fans that don't know, Detroit is also known to hockey fans as Hockeytown USA. The Red Wings have been great this year, so blaming the team for the lack of selling out doesn't make sense to me. I know that Detroit is having economic problems, but so are other areas. I guess what I want to find out is if what's going on in the economy (housing bust, layoffs etc) is starting to effect how much we spend on enjoying sports events. This is probably irrelevent but I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and both the SJ Sharks (hockey) & the Warriors (basketball) are hot tix that sell out in minutes. The housing & job market is still strong. GO SHARKS & WARRIORS!

The website for each franchise or websites for the arenas will have the information you are looking for. It may not be all economic, though, since you are talking about 20,000 or so fans in each venue, and drawing from large regions. The Wings have underwhelmed in the playoffs for the past few years that fans may not be as ready to splash the cash down for tickets.

The Sharks sell out virtually every game and they have the best fans ever!!! good luck to anyone trying to get tickets for games 3- 4 Long Gone!http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance?year=2007http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/attendanceYou could also pull up the newspaper from each city the day after the game and check the box score. Also I know Detroit did not sell out game one in round 2 and the Devils have not sold out a game yet!!!
