I'm booking a flight from Oregon to Japan with a connection in San Francisco. The S.F. to Tokyo leg is roughly 12-13 hours, so where the best seat in economy?

You have to develop a rappoire with an employee.I am a flirty-man and there is this babe who hooks me up with about $15-below-cost airline tickets. It is my opinion that the most "fit" participants in the ecomony "naturally" rise to the top.I have good social skills, but low "book smarts" but i make 80k/year and i have no complaints. I make as much as 94% of americans, and I'm proud of society's "demand" for ppl who have not only a brain, but social skills.

I usually get the isle seats close to the wings because its more stable than sitting anywhere. If you want more leg space then its better if you get seats in front of the emergency exits. You can get to stretch a bit more.

I always, request for a aisle seat, immediately after the business class, you get a little extra space to stretch your legs, and you can leave the aircraft soon after landing, and you can take a walk, without disturbing anybody.

I travel internationally all the time, it is like every other week these days. aisle seats are good because you can go to the bathroom anytime you want to. If you are in the middle or on the window, you have to ask people to get up from their seats. If you know you will sleep moost of the flight, the window is good so you can lean up against the bulkhead to reast. The middle seat is by far the worst seat.

bulkhead seats where the bassinets are... otherwise emergency exits. these seats have the widest leg room in terms of comfort (these seats are usually the hardest to get as well).

emergency exit row aisle seats give you the most legroom. They're hard to score on international flights though. Get to the airport early and see if you can get one.

Try to find & setting a seat on your airline's website if possible. The best seat ? Do you like to see the flight attendants face to face when sitting on the seat during take off and landing?Normally these seats in the plane is on the very left and very right side in the very front of economy class (depends what plane, not always), it also can see outside view, go to washroom or stand up and walk easily because no any other seats in front of these seats only flight attendant's seat(s) face to face to you ,it has very enough distances to put your legs.Is it the best seat for you???Ha...

I assume your flight is UA, which I haven't used for a long time, so my answer may not help you... But whenever I go to Oregon or come back to Japan by NWA, if possible, I try to get a very front seat so that I don't have to be bothered by the person (or his seat) in front of me...Or as some other people say, I usually choose the aisle seat, because I don't want to say "excuse me" every time I go to the restroom.

Emergency exit rows are the ones to pick for most leg room. However, the airline will only allocate these on check-in (even if they have the option to prebook seats). This is because they will only put able bodied people in those seats and cannot take the risk of you turning up on the day in crutches.Alternatively, if you're travelling on a 747, it narrows down to a 2-4-2 seating configuration at the back of the aircraft. Getting a seat here means you can sit by the window and only have to jump one person to reach the aisle (assuming you want to sit by the window). Don't sit right in the back row because you may be limited in terms of reclining your seat back. The only other problem with sitting in this area is people going to/from the toilets.

I've flown international with several different airlines and have always requested the seats at the front of the row, where there are no seats in front, near the emergency exits (I'm sure they have a special name, but I always say that to the staff at the airport and they know what I mean) - that way you have heaps of leg room, its easy to get up and walk around and you don't get disturbed by other passengers sitting next to you (if you have an aisle seat in any other row, you'll have to move every time the person next to you wants to use the bathroom). If you get the seats with nothing in front then choosing the aisle or window seat is completely up to you, there's no difference in terms of space or convenience. I've also been told by the cabin crew that those seats are the safest in economy!

the best seat are the back seats...most airlines leave the seats at the back of the plane free till the last passenger checks in so, if the plane is not full, just board and go right at the back of the plane and you will find empty rows where you can lie down the whole flight on 3 seat and have a great night sleep.many people know about the trick so the earlier you"reserve" these seat the better......... if the plane is fully booked then next to emergency doors have the best leg rooms.
