| by this i mean knowing age? married?work history?Health?Financial history?Qualifications?length of service to their various polital party?family?should i go onfrankly we are expected to turn up to a polling booth and vote for someone we couldnt recognise from a bar of soap to represent us at a local level, without knowing if they are married, have kids, were bankrupt, own their house or rent, where they grew up, what their values and morals are etcIs that really fair to expect the general public to vote a critical vote for someone who will represent them for the next 4 year without know a lick about them?more to the point would you vote for a lawyer who was bankrupted or a doctor that had been struck from the board or a diplomat that had to be recalled back home? |

| We just had a very very open election in my home town with all of the dirty laundry and facts aired for the public. It was different but really helped to make an informed decision. We had a couple of officials who got into trouble after the last elections so this year everyone just told the whole story. It was so much easier to make decisions. |
