I'm a Realtor and I'm not an idiot. On the other hand, maybe I am, if I even bother to answer a question as idiotic as this one.By the way, there's no such word as "amongst." It's "among." Do not be offended by an idiot Realtor correcting you.

LMAO, even though I'm a Realtor, and I consider myself to be a well spoken educated one, I really really know what you mean. I encountered a few idiots just today at work.It's undoubtedly because it's relatively easy to become licensed. Only the good survive, though. The morons fall to the wayside eventually. Bottom line, all us human beings are just trying to make a living at different things. There are morons in every field and industry. MANY.

It's true, it's so easy to become one. I am a little slow sometimes, but I work my butt off, and whatever I don't know the answer to, I find it out. I have dealt with many, many dumb realtors and loan officers alike, and it's sad really. I believe it should be a true profession, and not the fly-by-night operation that is has become. I am a Loan Officer and Agent in CA, and we have some of the strictest guidelines, but, it's still ridiculously easy to start. At least we have a mandatory continuing education if we want to renew our licenses. I think this is great, because it weeds out some of the lackey's, but alas, not all. I apologize on behalf of us all for your poor outlook on our profession, but it is justified. An alternative would be to get your own real estate license. If you deal that much in the industry, it might be to your benefit! And, Sorry to be the one to break it to you, MK, you spelled by wrong. It's "By" not "Buy" and amongst IS a word. It's not as widely used, but, it is proper grammar. Don't be offended by a better one correcting you! Smile

Generally the rule is that 90% of real estate is sold by 10% of the agents.My experience tells me that those that are selling on a regular bases are professional hardworking individuals.The brokerage is a fulltime profession like any other business and it takes skills, knowledge and tenacity to complete the cyle of marketing or purchasing real property.My suggestion is that the consumer should always interview at least 3 agents or brokers and ask them some tough questions.Often you will see a clearer picture.Sadly the "idiots" are in every profession.

Being good at some thing should be self evident and let say you are a Good one why do you let the other scum tarnish your guys, by let the other scam and screw over other you are just as bad for letting them go on.Shame on you all

AMEN ! Oh, it's just that easy eh? We just go out and get a license ? Shoot, if I had known it was going to be that easy, I would have skipped real estate school, skipped all of the CE classes I take, etc. Hmmm, being a Realtor is NOT that easy. I worked in my first real estate office over 25 yrs ago (and I'm only 42), and I've had my license for 11 yrs. For those of you who think Realtors are idiots, think again. The "average" person is NOT smart enough to even pass the test....The hours we work are not set in stone. I have buyer's and seller's calling me at 7 am on a Sunday morning, and at 10 pm on a Friday nite. There is NO walking away from the job at 5 pm on a Friday afternoon...NO WAY of leaving it all behind like a lot of others do. We take our jobs home with us, at least I do, EVERY DAY ! We don't make an hrly wage or salary, the majority of us are on a COMMISSION BASIS ONLY!SO THINK AGAIN !

It's not that easy to become a realtor as someone suggested, at least a good one. It sounds as if you may just be looking in the wrong places.
