Why not? The thing is that the wealth of this class shouldn't be based on the misery of the working class.

Because jobs that used to be middle class here are being shipped to foreign countries. Our middle class has been dwindling while other countries are benefiting from it.Ok, what are they moving up to? The unemployement rate is still pretty high for that to be happening.

The short answer is globalization. As the trans-national corporations move out into the world to low pay, and environmentally unprotected 3rd world countries there is a slow rise of what could be called a 'middle class'. Of course the folks that do the work rarely rise to that level, and an 'upper income' level composed of the mostly the already well connected also emerges. No problem there, except that here in the USA our 'middle class' is shrinking as the overseas middle class is rising. In the end, there will be a numerically larger world-wide middle class, but a lot of it won't be here in America. Them days is gone! The world will experiance a massive population of 'poor' or 'close to poor' people....a moderate sized 'middle class' and a small, economically and politically powerful upper class. The concept of 'sharing the wealth' will of course be labled 'socialism' and the 'poor' and close-to-poor will be like Oliver Twist...asking for but not receiving 'more'! Of course it may not turn out that way, but that's the way the smart money would bet!

Most likely because the sites you are looking at cater to investors and they wouldn't want you to quit investing over real facts.Try this one for real facts:http://www.inequality.org
