a rental car that my brother is getting for the Thanksgiving Holiday, we're going on vacation as a family, but he wants to get his own car so my mom is getting a separate rental car for him, but anyway, will I be able to drive the rental car too???I really want to drive too, but he's 21, and im 16 with a learners permit.Does it matter what kind of car it is? If so, its described as a "luxury SUV", thats it(lol). I don't care if it costs more for me to drive, so can I? I heard about adding people or something like that, so...Thanks.I'm gonna super mad if I can't.Ok, insurance, whatever, can I though?

if he's 21 i don't see why not, but you may want to ask the person actually paying for this. It doesn't matter what kind of vehical (as long as it's not a moving van or bigger) you drive.

No, you are not allowed to drive a rental car without being on the rental agreement. And you must be at least 18 years old to drive, so I might suggest that you pester mom and dad to let you drive their car.

Driving another persons rental car is very risky. If you were to get into an accident or run into something on accident the car insurance would not pay for it. I wouldnt do it.

when you are 16... if u have your drivers you can drive alone but if your 16 with your learners, someone 18 and older needs to be accompanying you as u drive.... well... according to rules here in canada (LOL). i agree with the randy guy.

Most rental car companies require you to be 25 to rent a car and some allow 21 year olds to drive them. I have heard of one company that will allow 19 and above to drive but I would assume you need a license at the least. A learner's permit will probably not be enough to get you access to the wheel no matter how much extra you pay.

You can drive it, legally, but you must have a person with a license in the passenger seat in the car with you. And, if you don't tell the company that someone else will be driving = no extra cost. But, don't get into an accident, or get a ticket or get pulled over, because that'll mean trouble for you and your bro.

I guess you better get "super mad". You are too young to legally drive a rental car. It sounds like you are also too immature since you will get "super mad if I can't"

It will vary depending on rental company... but most major co's will not allow a driver with a permit only to drive. Check out the rental co's terms and conditions. I wouldn't advise it. It's one thing for your parents to allow you to drive a vehicle that they own, but I don't think allowing you to drive a rental is such a good idea. Don't you have to drive with a licensed driver? If you are allowed to drive by the rental co... which I doubt, it is going to cost your parents lots of $$$$$

Most rental car companies require a driver to be at least 25. ( I know one that is 23) So chances are you will not be able to drive it. I also don't know of any that will allow a driver with only a learners permit to drive their cars no matter what type of car it is or how much extra you offer to pay.
