Pending home sales rise 0.2% Orange County Register – Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 The number of Americans signing contracts to buy previously owned homes unexpectedly rose in September after reaching a record low. The National Association of Realtors’ index of signed purchase agreements increased 0.2 percent to 85.7, the first gain in three months, the group said Tuesday. September’s increase follows the biggest back-to-back declines since record keeping began in 2001.

We still need to be cautious about the housing market and explain how it is complaining and not just recognizing an issue that needs to be adressed?

The housing market is not in a comeback mode. One area doesn't represent a nation. Foreclosures at a record high, credit issues abound and the Republicans like to call this a 'strong' economy. Buy any gas lately fool?

We still have the multiple records set for foreclosuresthere is also the multiple records set for bankruptciesthere is the fact that the average Americans savings is at an all time low while his/her debt is at an all time low.we could still complain that college tuition and health care costs have doubled in the last five years.we could talk about the value of the dollar. or lack of value...and if none of that works, we still have that pesky war to talk about. You know, the one for which there was no REAL reason to start.

You must live in some alternate dimension from the rest of us. The housing market is in a pretty big slump right now and not looking to improve anytime soon. And the country is teetering on the brink of recession.

You site a rise in contracts but notice there is no information as to an increase or decrease in value of those homes....so that figure could also mean that people are selling properties at a loss..... which can hardly be deemed a comeback in housing

So your thought is that the 0.2 increase is because of some Republican action? Get real. In Stockton and Sacramento, the foreclosures in the last three months top any in history. The depreciation of the homes in the same area has reached between 15-21% - so you want to celebrate a 0.2% increase and you want us to thank a republican? How about this for numbers - the war your boy started has cost the average American family of 4 $20,900. So believe me, there is still plenty to complain about.
