June 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

What's on the Agenda? Board of Supervisors Items of Interest for June 14th, 2011 It’s that time of the month again. During this My Generation taped interview, the food philosopher oozes charm when talking about the “aliveness” of vegetables (both living and dead/cook, we imagine) and how the Chez Panisse kitchen is “nothing like a noisy, tension-filled reality TV” filled with “yelling and screaming.” [Eater] [ more › ]

Molly Ringwald Coming to the Marina, 6/14

June 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

Molly Ringwald Coming to the Marina, 6/14 Tomorrow night, Samantha Baker (AKA Molly Ringwald) will make a guest appearance in the city’s Marina district. Why? Well, according to SFGate, “Molly Ringwald has partnered with San Francisco’s Benefit Cosmetics to promote last year’s ‘Getting the Pretty Back,’ her ode to growing old gracefully.” Cool. Also, kinda sad. Ringwald, if we may, never lost her pretty. And she’s, what, 41? 42? Practically still a fetus. [ more › ]

Comment of the Day: "The trial in 2009 was pointless….

June 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

“The trial in 2009 was pointless. It wasn’t even obvious the closed-off spaces were supposed to be part of the sidewalk. It needs to be at the same level so nobody is tripping, and it shouldn’t look like a construction site.” – guest [Breathing Room]

Man Attacked with Hammer After Home Invasion Robbery A robbery on the 3400 block of Geary Boulevard turned exceptionally grim this morning after a man was brutally beaten with a hammer during the home invasion. “Two suspects broke down the front door of the home and began to take items. One of the suspects encountered the 45-year-old victim and demanded money from him,” reports KTVU. “The victim began to struggle with the intruders and was hit in the head and knees several times with a hammer.” The victim, now in stable condition, was treated at SF General.
